Founders of Carrifran Wildwood

Raven Craig and Rotten Bottom

When Borders Forest Trust purchased Carrifran on 1 January 2000, about 80% of the cost (£400,000) had been contributed by private individuals who gave at least £250 to “adopt” nominal hectares in the valley, with individual contributions ranging up to £35,000.

This group of private individuals, known as Founders, numbers just over 600. You can download and review the list of those Carrifran Wildwood founders who authorised publication of their names. If you are a Founder whose name is not included but you now wish it to be, or if any of the details need updating, please contact us.

The Founderships closed after Carrifran valley was purchased on Millennium Day, but there is now a Stewardship scheme which allows you to become permanently associated with the Wildwood project in the same way as the Founders. To learn more, please refer to the Stewards of Carrifran Wildwood page.
